In 2006, Dr. Andy Deak joined his father’s practice, bringing with him not only a dentistry degree, but also a medical education. Because he’s a licensed physician, Andy supplies the necessary medical understanding for many of the more complex dental procedures.
Like his father, Andy believes that before all else, every patient deserves to be treated with respect and kindness. By getting to know his patients, Andy determines the best approach for their individual care, and together they come up with a plan.
Andy earned a medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2004 and a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from Case Western Reserve University in 2006. His undergraduate studies were completed at Youngstown State University. Andy completed a year of preliminary internal medicine residency at Akron City Hospital/Summa Health System.
Andy is a professor at Case School of Dental medicine and NEOMED, and he has lectured to dentists and medical doctors on medical-dental emergencies and the oral-systemic link.
